Description

This course is designed to help you come to grips with the practical and theoretical issues involved in assessing students and giving them feedback on their learning. You will be asked to consider these issues in the context of your own students, the courses you currently teach and the way UNSW and your School operate. You are encouraged to experiment with the techniques discussed in your own courses. Some of the issues to be addressed include: the impact of assessment and feedback on learning; techniques of assessment and their applications in different learning situations; resource implications of providing good assessment and feedback; principles for creating and handling valid and reliable assessment data.
