Description

This course aims to develop students appreciation and understanding of the architectural potential of timber, in particular the use of engineered timber and prefabrication. Project work will include: i] researching selected aspects of the timber resource, products, uses and industry; and ii] the design of a medium scale architectural structure with a simple accommodation brief. Design emphasis will be on the resolution and documenting of the timber structure, construction and detailing of the project. The course will run as an intensive 8 week program commencing in week 1 of semester.
