Description

This course provides post graduate students with a unique opportunity to design in a multi-disciplinary environment with a real brief, budget and client delivery expectations. Post graduate students are expected to be multi discipline leaders in this process. The design will be of a significant structure relevant to design coursework. The brief for the studio-based design project will include a wide range of performance criteria and will expect multiple design solutions from post graduate students. Multi-Disciplinarity will be achieved by integrated team working, with participation from other design-based faculties (Faculties of the College of Fine Arts, Built Environment and Engineering). Coursework includes lectures, individual research, design, team management, visual and physical modelling, reporting and presentation. The product will be capable of subsequent fabrication and construction, through another course. Students are encouraged to undertake both courses but they can be taken independently.
