Description

This course will provide an introduction to statistical methodology used in the conduct of randomised controlled clinical trials. We will start with an introduction to the basic philosophy and history of the randomized controlled trial, and discuss design issues such as methods of randomization and sample size determination. Extensive use will be made of computer methods in analysing data sets.

Pre-requisites: 24 units of level III mathematics or a degree in a numerate discipline or permission of the Head of Department.
