Description

This course develops an understanding of leadership as a holistic process that involves influencing people both inside and outside the organisation. The dynamics of interpersonal influence processes are investigated, with particular attention given to the broader conceptualisation of leadership style, such as 'transformational' and 'transactional' leadership.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course you should be able to:
1. Interpret contemporary leadership research and theory.
2. Interpret the multifaceted nature of leadership in Australia and internationally.
3. Analyse the principles and practices of leadership and management within an organisational setting, and be able to relate these to your own experiences.
4. Share your understanding of leadership with colleagues in an informed and constructive manner.
5. Appreciate the ethical challenges of leadership.
