Description

Porosity Studio is special interdisciplinary course suitable for postgraduate students in Fine Art, Design, Media Studies, Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Planning and Engineering. Led by Professor Richard Goodwin, this intensive studio centres on a critical investigation of contemporary urban space and the intersections of public and private space, and assumes the need for architecture to be porous in relation to public space, hence the name "Porosity".

Often held in overseas locations, with the engagement of local institutions, the course places student artists, architects, designers and engineers into a collaborative studio to develop art and design interventions rethinking the nature of public space, with proposals intersecting the fields of sculpture, installation. performance, architecture, urban planning and industrial design.

As this course is often held overseas in an intensive mode, students will need to allow for airfares and accommodation costs.
