Description

LING5030 Linguistics and Cognitive Science is concerned with age-old topics that have become crucial in contemporary approaches towards language, cognition and philosophy of science. The course examines ideas about the innateness of human language, the structure of the cognitive faculty, and the relationship between language, thought and meaning. Other topics include language evolution and the comparisons of language with other cognitive systems, like vision and navigation.
