Description

This course provides a framework for studying the principles of management and their application in practice, particularly in the context of construction organisations. Management is the process of planning, organising, leading and controlling the work of organisational members effectively and efficiently, and of using available organisational resources to reach specific organisational goals. This course focuses on how organisations are managed and how managers can attract, develop and retain key human resources as the most important asset for organisational success. In addition, contemporary issues relating to management are explored. The management principles are also reinforced by discussion on management case studies and practices.
