Description

This course explores contemporary understandings of human development with particular emphasis on adolescence and youth. It considers the physical, cognitive, social and emotional developmental patterns of adolescents, especially within the context of secondary schools, and how these factors influence students' varied approaches to learning. Theoretical understandings will be linked to aspects of effective pedagogical practice in the secondary school and classroom
