Description

In this course you will explore the expressive potential of line and mark-making in the production of contemporary creative studio work. It will develop both your technical skills and conceptual understanding of image making. Drawing is foregrounded as an experimental and conceptual process informed by history and the rich potential offered by new ways of thinking. Line and Mark: Past & Futures provides instruction and insight into the creative and symbolic potential of gesture and mark making essential to linear processes. You will be expected to be aware of important Health and Safety aspects of studio work and comply with relevant requirements as part of developing a professional approach to practice. This course forms part of the Planar Practices studio focus. The course is taught in the studio through a system of lectures and practical studios and tutorials.
