Description

This is a first year course in the Masters of Counselling Social Work. It introduces the contextual frame of individual-in-relationship, family systems theory, family-sensitive practice, counselling orientations to strengths and resilience and postmodern emphases in contemporary counselling theories. It examines the counsellor-client relationship addressing the social worker's use of self, containment, boundaries and engagement.
