Description

This course examines the causes, course and consequences of the wars in Indochina from the return of French colonial rule in 1945 to the defeat of American and allied interests in 1975 with the fall of Saigon and the end of the Republic of Vietnam. The course will introduce students to a number of major historiographical arguments within the extensive and diverse historical literature on the war.
