Stream Outline

Who should do this stream?

The Master of Public Health in ‘Quantitative Research Methods’ stream will equip public health graduates with knowledge of the principles of quantitative research methods that underpin public health programs and policies. The stream will be aimed at public health students and professionals interested in learning the skills required to epidemiological and biostatistical skills in their future careers and those wishing to begin the transition to a career in quantitative research methods in public health.

The Master of Public Health (MPH) in Quantitative Research Methods is designed for students who wish to specialise in Quantitative Research Methods, which is reflected in their Testamur.

Students must complete 48 units of credit in total as follows:

Stream Structure

A. MPH core courses (18 units of credit)

PLUS

B. The following stream-defining courses (12 units of credit)
PLUS

C. Two courses (12 uoc) from recommended Quantitative Research Methods-related electives, including:
PLUS

D. One more elective (6 units of credit), a project in a Quantitative Research Methods-related topic or internship:
The revised stream structure and list of electives will be available to students currently enrolled in the Quantitative Research Methods Stream. Students who enrolled prior to Semester 1, 2016, will also be allowed to complete courses previously listed as Quantitative Research Methods electives.
