Stream Outline

Who should do this stream?

The Infectious Diseases Control specialisation provides students with advanced knowledge and skills in the principles and practice of infectious diseases epidemiology and control.

This stream is aimed at public health personnel who seek a career in infectious disease control in the health sector or in international health, or who wish to progress to postgraduate research in infectious diseases epidemiology.

The Infectious Diseases Control stream is available to students enrolled in the dual 9047 Master of Public Health/Master of Health Management Program.

Stream Structure

Students must complete 72 units of credit as follows:
  • 7 core courses MPH/MHM (42UOC)
  • 1 SPHCM elective (6 UOC)
PLUS

Specialisation Requirement courses (24 UOC):

One stream defining course (6 UOC)
and

Two courses from recommended Infectious Diseases electives (12 UOC)
plus

One course from recommended Infectious Diseases Methods electives (6UOC)
