Stream Outline

Who should do this stream ?
The Master of International Public Health (MIPH) in Infectious Diseases Epidemiology and Control provides students with advanced knowledge and skills in the principles and practice of infectious diseases epidemiology and control. This stream is aimed at public health personnel who seek a career in infectious disease control in the health sector or in international health, or who wish to progress to postgraduate research in infectious diseases epidemiology.

Stream Structure

A. MIPH core courses (18 units of credit)

PLUS

B. The following stream-defining course (6 units of credit):
PLUS

C. Two courses (12 units of credit) from recommended international health and infectious diseases electives
PLUS

D. One course (6 units of credit ) from recommended infectious disease methods electives, including:
PLUS

E. One more elective (6 Units of Credit), a project in infectious diseases or internship:
Students who enrolled in the stream before Semester 1 2016 will not be impacted by the changes outlined above. Students will be able to select courses previously offered in the Stream as well as the new option of PHCM9143 Internship in an infectious diseases topic.
