Stream Outline

Who should do this stream?

This stream is targeted for public health students with an interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health generally and for those seeking to enhance the capacity of the primary health care, public health, allied health, community development and the broader sector workforce to cohesively address the physical, psychosocial, cultural and environmental determinants of health and wellbeing of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

The Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing stream is available to students enrolled in the dual 9043 Master of International Public Health/Master of Public Health Program.

Stream Structure

Students must complete 72 units of credit as follows:
  • Four core courses (24 UOC)
  • Three International health electives (18 UOC)
  • Any SPHCM elective (6 UOC)
PLUS

Specialisation Requirement courses (24 UOC):

Two stream defining courses (12 UOC)
and

Two courses from recommended Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing-related electives (12 UOC)
