The Graduate Certificate in Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) is an interdisciplinary graduate program of study for students with a safety, health or environment background intending to become SHE professionals. It is the first stage of a graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Science in Safety, Health and Environment. The Graduate Certificate program requires 24 UOC, is normally completed, subject to timetabling arrangements, in six months of full time study (or equivalent part time) and is available in on campus and off campus study modes, with approximately equal emphasis given to occupational health and safety; environmental science; and SHE management. The program is designed to accept graduates from many health, science, environment, engineering or management disciplines, and in accordance with Faculty and School policy, allows entry for non-graduates with suitable qualifications or experience.

*Note: Substitution of core courses for elective courses offered in postgraduate programs of the School of Safety Science program (subject to any pre-requisites for these courses being completed), or from other Schools within the University, subject to the approval of both the relevant program authorities, is possible. The range of electives available in off-campus mode is more restricted than for internal students.
Exemption but not necessarily advanced standing (transfer credit) may be awarded to students who can establish that they have equivalent knowledge in these courses at an appropriate level.
