Program Description

The Master of Health Management (Extension) is designed for students who have completed the Master of Health Management or equivalent and would like to develop research skills and/or wish to apply for entry into a PhD program.

Program Objectives and Graduate Attributes

The MHM (Extension) provides students with the opportunity to study additional courses which build research skills, as well as carry out an 18 UoC major project in health services management. Candidates wishing to undertake the MHM(Ext) must achieve a minimum Credit average in the coursework component of the MHM and provide an acceptable research proposal. Students should apply on completion of the MHM core courses. Successful completion of the MHM (Ext) is a requirement for candidates wishing to apply for entry to the PhD program.

Program Structure

In addition to the 48 units of credit (UOC) required for the Master of Health Management (8901), candidates in the MHM(Ext) must also complete 6 UOC of coursework tailored to their particular research project.
