Couple and Family Therapy

Description

Couple and Family Therapy is a specialist modality of practice in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. The theory and practice of couple and family therapy has been developed across the last fifty years. Seeing couples and families in the therapeutic environment allows the relational contexts of individual experience to be explored and used in therapeutic change. Couple and family therapy is practised in a wide range of health and welfare settings, and as an interdisciplinary specialisation it is practised by psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, counselling nurse specialists and educational counsellors.

The study of Couple and Family Therapy prepares professionals who are already trained and experienced in counselling for specialist practice in couple and family therapy.
