Pharmaceutical Medicine

Description

Pharmaceutical Medicine is an area of medical specialisation relating to the discovery, development commercialisation and post-market surveillance of medicines. Students interested in careers that relate to the development and safe use of medicines will be interested in the programs of study offered by UNSW.

Graduates of Pharmaceutical Medicine programs may find careers in early stage development of new medicines; registration of medicines (regulatory affairs); conducting pre-clinical studies or clinical trials; medical affairs, medical information, pharmacovigilance or health technology assessment (pharmacoeconomics) of new therapeutic products. Career opportunities exist in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, government departments and in research institutions such as universities.
