Description
The course provides a grounding for postgraduate research students commencing research in the humanities and social sciences. It supports students in the preparation of their first substantive piece of written work for the degree: a comprehensive thesis proposal. The course will begin by looking generally at the thesis writing process before discussing in detail the typical components of a thesis proposal. The course will also discuss the characteristics of good academic writing.
