Description

The School of Social Sciences is an exceptional community of scholars who are at the forefront of a wide range of social science disciplines and professions, including criminology, development studies, sociology and anthropology, social work, political science and international relations.

Our academics contribute expert opinion and scholarly knowledge to many policy fields. The School has strong links with the international research community and has an established visitor program.

The School is active in both theoretical and empirical research and is successful in receiving regular funding from both national competitive sources such as the Australian Research Council and individual research contracts from government and other organisations.

Our scholars are widely published, producing leading publications including books, conference papers, editorials, and research articles in prominent Australian and international publications.
