Chinese Studies

Description

Chinese is a fascinating modern language with a rich cultural heritage and is an increasingly important language in global business. At UNSW, Chinese Studies encompasses the study of Chinese language and communication as well as culture and civilisation, including Chinese history, politics and philosophy. A background in Chinese Studies is useful in many areas of professional specialisation, from commerce and the business sector to tourism, the media and the public service sector.

Research areas by members of staff qualified for Master of Arts (Research) supervision include contemporary Chinese political economy, literary studies, cultural studies, anthropology, sociolinguistics and provincial studies.
