Overview

The Department of Aviation is part of the Faculty of Science at UNSW. It consists of a core of permanent staff members, together with a large number of affiliated academics and aviation staff actively involved with the degree program.

We offer a selection of programs and services to prepare students for the aviation industry. Degree programs range from the Bachelor of Aviation to our Masters and Doctorate programs and are available in a range of different delivery modes. Whether you want to be a pilot, air traffic controller, airport or airline manager (or perhaps you already are!) - the Department of Aviation will have a program that suits you. If you are looking for a research or consulting partner, then we are sure that we are also able to provide a quality product that is world class.

The Department also owns three aircraft and have permanent lease of two others, including a Duchess. We conduct flight training from our flight training centre at Bankstown Airport.

For information on the programs of study offered by the School, please refer to the relevant discipline or program entries in this online Handbook or to the School's website. We look forward to welcoming you to UNSW.
