Description Focuses on the role of museums, art galleries and cultural centres in the display and representations of Indigenous peoples and their culture. A critical introduction to heritage of both pre-contact and contact Australia and its relationship to perpetuating myths through display are examined. Disciplines of anthropology, ethnography, archaeology, and museum curatorial studies are examined. Particular attention is given to material culture and the politics of display in museums and keeping places.
