Description

Online Course

This online course will help give you a better understanding and appreciation of art. You will learn how to observe and appreciate art from different perspectives, and will be asked to draw on experience and knowledge from your own area of study. Sharing your own perspective with others, and learning how to broaden and contextualise your understanding of artwork and exhibitions are key elements to this course.

Your study will involve looking at artwork and placing them in context. You will be guided in your exploration of artistic principles and ideas through online lectures and discussions.

By the end of this course, you should have a better understanding of art, the processes of art-making, and be better informed. Further, you will have an appreciation of how art can link into other areas of work and life. Importantly, through the online interactive interchange of ideas you will have contributed to the critical discussion in these fields.

NOTE: This course is conducted via the Omnium system (omnium.edu.au). Students will receive log in instructions via their UNSW email account prior to the commencement of the course. For international students: This 3 unit of credit (UOC) online course can only be undertaken in addition to the minimum 18 UOC face-to-face requirement per session.
