| Aircraft Design 4 - ZACM4011 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description Exposure to an understanding of military and civilian airworthiness and certification requirements in aircraft design. Study in detail the construction of the V-n diagrams, and damage tolerant and fatigue design concepts. Aircraft design optimisation and trade studies are then considered. Aircraft costing and scheduling estimates are developed and compared across like types of aircraft. Maintainability and reliability design approaches are discussed in some detail and integrated into a design. The aerospace design and build project is concluded during the course. Students introduced to the complexities of helicopter and V/STOL vehicle design.
