Building Modelling, Rendition and Presentation - BENV2420 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description This course assumes a working knowledge of 3D object-based CAD modelling and the process of extracting and producing traditional orthogonal drawings directly from a 3D building model. This elective builds on that base knowledge to develop an understanding of the range of techniques and strategies of design documentation and representation that can flow from the use of a 3D building model. The emphasis of the course will be on the smooth movement of data between a range of software tools to achieve quality, precision and clarity in 2D paper-based presentation of design concepts. Lectures are used to discuss a range of communication strategies and the tools available to achieve those. Practical and explorative experience is achieved through a series of graded exercises culminating in a major project to demonstrate the level of knowledge and skill achieved.
