Description

This course provides students with an understanding of the multi-disciplinary processes required for the detailing, fabrication, and construction of (a) significant structure(s) relevant to their other coursework, by direct workshop experience. The scheme design(s) of the structure will be
developed in a different course (BENV2723 Multi Disciplinary Design Workshop; BENV2724 Multi Disciplinary Fabrication & Construction Workshop), though the two courses can be taken independently. The scheme design provides a starting point, and is to be developed through analysis and justification, detailed design, component fabrication and site assembly and disassembly.
Multi-disciplinarity will be achieved by integrated team working, with participation from other design-based faculties.
Coursework includes lectures, individual research, detailed design, team
management, modelling, fabrication, construction, site survey and establishment and reporting.
