Description

The expectations and conventions applying to spoken and written communications within the engineering discipline. Different textual genres and cultural traditions. Aspects of rhetoric. Ethical use of material.

Students will improve their ability to collect and build ideas into coherent arguments, learn how to construct texts that demonstrate critical thinking, and develop their communication skills (speaking, listening, writing & reading) suitably for professional practice.

Pre-requisite: Previous study towards a BE, enrolment by invitation only
Co-requisite: Only available to students concurrently enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program.
