Drawing the Body: Studies of Surface Anatomy - GEND1202 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description This course provides an introduction to human anatomy through the studies of comparative anatomy, skeletal structure, musculature and a perspective on the history and philosophy of anatomical images. A practical examination of the structure, form, and function of the body develops an understanding of the human figure. Emphasis is placed on direct observations of the nude. Students draw from the skeleton, casts, and prepared anatomical specimens. A range of approaches are covered that will encourage students to understand the basic anatomical constructs.
