Description

This course is an introduction to the application of geophysical methods to environmental and urban studies, groundwater and geotechnical investigations and to resource exploration. The methods covered include gravity, magnetics, electrical, electromagnetic, seismic, ground penetrating radar and borehole logging. The course content and presentation are designed to accommodate those students with interests in environmental, geotechnical and geological subjects but not necessarily with strong backgrounds in mathematics or physics.

Note/s: Field work up to 5 days is a compulsory part of this subject, and it is usually carried out on or near the university campus. Students may incur personal costs. Details are provided in the first week of the subject.
