Description

Focusing on the late 20th and early 21st centuries, this course provides historical context to the major theoretical concepts discussed in INTA3222, most particularly postmodernism. Contextual themes to be explored include: design and youth, design and counterculture, design as polemic, design and popular culture, design as narrative. The course will include a detailed exploration of recent issue inn interior architecture practice in relation to particular project typologies. Guest lecturers drawn from industry will provide specialist input to this discussion. The course as a whole is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills that will assist them in conceptualising their approach to, and successfully completing their dissertations in final year.
