Description

Free and forced responses of single degree-of-freedom spring-mass-damper systems, vibration isolation, transmissibility; Harmonic analysis; Vibration measuring instruments; Linear vibrations of multi-degree-of-freedom systems, normal modes; Analysis of continuous systems, wave equation, transverse vibration of strings, longitudinal/torsional vibration of bars and rods, bending vibration of beams. Introduction to experimental vibration analysis using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) techniques. Typical sources of vibration in machines. Analysis of continuous systems using finite element techniques. Modal analysis. Vibration testing.
