This course will advance student knowledge and stimulate interest in contact lenses through the development of a theoretical and practical understanding of the design of rigid and soft lenses, contact lens fitting principles, clinical assessment and optimisation of contact lens fittings, and contact lens material properties. There will be a strong emphasis on the acquisition of specific contact lens-related clinical skills, together with problem solving and clinical decision making in the fitting of both rigid and soft contact lenses. the course will be delivered using lectures, practical classes, minor assignments and self-directed learning.
