Description

Pharmacology for health and exercise science introduces students to the basic principles of pharmacology with an emphasis on the interaction of drugs and exercise. The course will provide students with an understanding of the principles of drug action(pharmacodynamics) in terms of drug chemistry, drug-receptor interaction, receptor signalling and dose-response relationships. Students will gain an appreciation of the mechanisms by which drugs act utilizing clinical examples and the impact of treatment on acute and chronic responses to exercise.
