Description

This course is designed to prepare Preservice Teachers to teach Technology (Mandatory) Stage 4 and Design and Technology Stage 5-6 in secondary schools. The course focuses upon lesson planning and development and classroom management for the technology classroom and links directly to SAED 3491 Professional Experience – Design and Technology. Preservice teachers are encouraged to reflect upon their own studio practice and consider the role of creativity, innovation and enterprise in their future roles as teachers of technology. This course will extend preservice teacher’s understanding of the specific language of design and technology and the literacy demands of technology as a subject, to meet the literacy
learning needs of a diverse range of students, while at the same
time, reinforcing appropriate literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
