Description

This course will examine and challenge the ways in which we interact with the world by creating fictional scenarios and experimental interventions that explore alternative realities. Students will explore common assumptions about technologies and investigate how we interact with them in order to subvert them. Over the course of the semester students will work on two performative case studies. The case studies will provide an experimental playground for students to explore alternative ways of using established/emerging technologies. The experimental scenarios/interventions developed in these case studies will test new social, poetic or perhaps alienating concepts. Students will document their experiments using video that can be manipulated or extended with digital collages and animations.
