Description

This course introduces principles for the design and playtesting of computer games. Concepts of game mechanics, gameplay, games as rule systems, scripting, level design, prototyping, play testing, serious games, and ludological issues and themes are covered to allow students to develop, analyse and extend game design. Because of the detail and complexity of the skills involved in this subject, students undertaking this work will be expected to devote a significant portion of their time outside of classes to progress with this work in a satisfactory manner.
