Description

This advanced course extends students' conceptual engagement with photomedia using technical skills acquired in Introduction to Digital Imaging (SOMA2815). Students develop skills in digital-imaging software, image manipulation techniques, high-resolution scanning and output devices, and colour-space theory.

Students are encouraged to take a critical perspective in relation to the production and advancement of their own practice. This studio-based course encourages exploration, experimentation and development of ideas through set projects aimed at producing work in the context of contemporary arts and culture. As such, the course aims at delivering a high level of technical aptitude within the parameters of fine arts image capture and digital imaging processes used in contemporary practice.
