Structural Analysis 1 - ZEIT3600 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of the behaviour of elastic structures composed of line elements, i.e. skeletal structures, when subjected to various actions. They will become familiar with commonly used structures and will be able to analyse the effects of forces on various components such as frames, trusses, beams and beam-columns. Students will learn of the significance of deflections for structures and how they may be assessed using a variety of techniques. Students will also learn techniques to assess the post-yield behaviour of sections and how this behaviour may be used to assess the failure response of simple structural systems.
