Description

The course provides a broad overview of astronomy and our place in the cosmos. It covers the solar system and its exploration, stars, galaxies, cosmology, the Earth as a habitable planet, and the search for life elsewhere in the Universe. The course is delivered wholly on the Internet through blackboard. The approach will be descriptive, and is designed to introduce astronomy to non-science students, including the concept of scientific methodology.

Note: Students enrolled in a Faculty of Science program should not take this course.
