Description

Static and time-dependent electric and magnetic fields. Electric and magnetic potentials. Materials in electric and magnetic fields. Electromagnetic waves.

Kinetic theory of gases, pressure, temperature, work & heat, Laws of thermodynamics, heat engines, Carnot cycle, entropy, Helmholtz & Gibbs functions, phase transitions and diagrams.

Assumed Knowledge: Completion of first year physics and second year mathematics course on three variable calculus.
