Description

SOMA1111 Media Art Research Foundations introduces media art research methodologies to commencing students in the Bachelor of Media Arts program. The course will also be of interest to any student seeking to better understand how media art works are conceived and initiated. It introduces different models for thinking about the processes and practices that go into making media art, analysing examples of innovative artistic projects that have advanced or disrupted existing media practice. Students work in small groups, specifically referencing media art histories and possible futures, on a self-chosen project proposing and developing prototype media artworks for peer discussion and class feedback.
