Human Resource Management in the Built Environment - BLDG2282
Description
BLDG2282 offers an introduction to the contemporary human resource management (HRM) issues and practices facing construction organisations and individuals in the changing business environment. The construction industry, like other industries, is a labour-intensive industry, particularly at the project level. The need to work with different project participants and industry stakeholders demands a good understanding of how these rich multi-participant dynamics and interrelationships between different individual- and firm-level HRM processes can be managed effectively and strategically. In this course, you will be introduced to the germane HRM concepts, theories and practical considerations of: (1) how and why different HR policies affect the way in which construction organisations operate and perform, and (2) how and why individuals should behave and react in different situations.
