Description

Subject Area: Social Work

SOCW4010 is the second of two placements that students will undertake as part of the Bachelor of Social Work Degree. Placements occur in a range of settings such as hospitals, state and federal government departments, and non-government community based organisations. Students are allocated to a human services agency to undertake field-based learning under the supervision of a Field Educator (supervisor) employed by that agency. The placement comprises 75 attendance days (525 hours) and is generally undertaken full time throughout Semester 2. The placement is accompanied by a series of Integration Seminars that support and complement the students’ field based learning and prepare the students for graduating as a professional social worker. Student learning is monitored and assessed by the university in consultation with the Field Educator and student.
