Description

In this course students will explore the production of artworks specific to editions, multiples and artist books in the context of contemporary visual arts. Students will be introduced to the concepts of uniqueness, repetition and reproduction as ideas central to editions, multiples and artist books in art, as well as acquire a basic understanding of the integration of vector-based, digital imaging and design software programs that are central to their production.

Building upon a student’s prior knowledge acquired within digital imaging, the course will also give an overview of the computer design-orientated environment focusing on the layout of images and text (including typography), and other graphic elements (including colour) that reinforce conceptual intent.
