Description

The Journal of Equity is a law journal, publishing peer-reviewed articles, book reviews, case notes and comments on the diverse area of equity. An international forum for intellectual debate, the Journal of Equity charts contemporary legal developments in Australia and across the common law world. Equitable rules and principles, as outlined and analysed in the Journal of Equity, are crucial to the study and practice of many areas of law, including commercial and taxation law.

The Journal of Equity was awarded an A ranking in 2010 ERA list published by the Australian Research Council. The journal has a high calibre editorial board includes members of the judiciary, academy and legal profession.

Interns will be involved in the following tasks (including but not limited to):
  • Formatting articles into house style
  • Doing research to identify issues for future articles and assisting in identifying and approaching authors
  • Day to day management of the journal
  • Attendance at journal board meetings where relevant
  • Attendance at journal conferences where relevant
This course will assist in honing editorial skills, academic writing skills and self-management skills. More importantly, interns will deepen and broaden their knowledge of equitable doctrine and principle. The internship also provides an invaluable opportunity for interns to make connections with members of the profession and judiciary.
