Description

The issue of representation is central to the development and extension of Architectural Computing.
This studio draws on the histories and theories of architectural representation and recasts them with the lens of computation. Students will draw from precedents to systematically re-present significant moments in architectural history. Within this design driven reengagement students will expand zones of similarity and difference (between before and after the recasting) and ultimately, critique the contribution computation might make to significant moments in architectures future. The course is lab-studio based supplemented by lectures.
Learning and assessment is based on design experiments within a computer lab based studio environment.
