Description

The course establishes the interrelationship between the practice of landscape architecture and landscape planning and management. The course includes an overview Australian environmental policy and legislative framework, Australian environment history and associated environmental value systems. Students examine plans of management and master plans for designed landscapes in relation to policies and values. Principles and approaches to sustainable development and design are reviewed. Finally, through seminars and case studies, and a research paper students explore a range of landscape management methodologies and processes, such as site remediation, and ecological restoration.
